Product Description Details
Produced by Remírez de Ganuza, Viña Coqueta is a single vineyard Spanish red wine made from a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Grenache. The grapes come solely from Finca La Coqueta, an exceptional plot located in Samaniego, in the very heart of La Rioja Alavesa.
Harvested by hand and selected on site, once in the cellar the grape bunches were first refrigerated for 24 hours. Then the upper Tempranillo grapes were separated from the lower ones (which are used for crafting the carbonic maceration wine Erre Punto).
Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks and concrete vats. After that, this red wine from La Rioja was transferred into 80% new and 20% 2nd year French (80%) and American oak barrels, where it went through malolactic fermentation.
After completing the process, Viña Coqueta Reserva 2013 was aged for 25 months in the barrels.
Bottled in April 2016, this Reserva red wine was finally aged for several years in the bottle.
Decant at least 1 hour before drinking.
